I Have Access on My Phone but Can't Log In on Desktop, Why?

Your phone and desktop are likely on two different Heroic login systems, not a broken account.

Your account isn't broken. This usually means your phone and your desktop are pointed at two different Heroic login systems, and only one of them has your current password.

Why This Happens

Heroic runs on a few separate platforms that don't share logins with each other.

Heroic's Separate Login Systems

  • legacy.heroic.us, heroic.us, and app.philosophersnotes.com (for Philosopher's Notes) each have their own accounts.

  • Your phone app may already be signed into one of these and just keeps you logged in session to session.

  • Desktop asks you to log into a specific platform fresh, and if that's a different one than your phone, the same password won't work.

What to Do

Figure Out Which Platform Is Yours

  • If you signed up before August 2025, your account is on legacy.heroic.us.

  • If you signed up recently through heroic.us, use that site directly.

  • If you're a Philosopher's Notes member, use app.philosophersnotes.com.

Log In and Reset on That Same Platform

  • Log in on desktop at that specific address, not whichever one comes up first in your browser history or bookmarks.

  • If your password doesn't work there, use the "Forgot Password" link on that same platform.

  • Resetting your password on the wrong platform won't fix a login on a different one.

For the full breakdown of which platform matches your account, see "Why does my password work on one Heroic platform but not another?"

Still Stuck?

Contact Support

  • Email [email protected] with the email on your account and which site you tried logging into on desktop.

  • That's usually enough for us to find where your account lives and get you back in.
